Editorial Design
I've worked in Editorial design since the beginning of my career–as an intern at The Washington Post. Since then, I've honed both my digital and print editorial skills at Slate, National Journal and SHRM. I began focusing on print magazine design and art direction at National Journal. As Art Director at NJ, I was responsible for commissioning original photography or illustration for the entire issue as well as laying out all of the features. The magazine ran three issues a month. At SHRM, I acted as both a designer and Creative Director and various points and was able to zoom into the details and take a higher level approach. During my time at SHRM, I also oversaw a redesign of the printed magazine to better connect with the digital brand and style.
